Yeah we’ve just discarded them which considering the other CBSs we have at the club is a joke.

But then again Arteta is manager and his judgment is absolutely awful so it’s no real surprise.

Arsenal's forgotten Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos, 23, could be poised to seal a permanent deal to loan club Stuttgart. (Bild, via Star)

Thought it already was?

Think he went on loan with an option to buy at 3.5 million or something like that, guess the club have been impressed with him and think at that money they may as well agree the deal early.

Is he doing well that side? If so, we should not be so quick to discard him

It's an obligation to buy if Stuttgart stay up, which they almost definitely will.

As per the legendary quote from a legendary player, it's a funny old game is football.

Anyone else recollect the smug, verging on disrespectful attitude of Mourinho in having gotten Everton to stump up £28M for a player he deemed a clumsy oaf no way near good enough to play for his Chelsea, like Boycey having palmed off a proper lemon taken in part exchange, for a very healthy 800% profit? Can you hear his ocackling laugh?

Forget about the same Mourinho then paying double that money or whatever it was, to then take said player to Man United as his star striker.

Forget about Chelsea then having to pay £100M in order to re-recruit said player from Inter Milan, ironically another of Mourinho's former clubs.

Forget about Arsene Wenger at the height of his decline (does that qualify as a paradox?) and myopathy, throwing Serge Gnabry to Tony Pulis like a Christian to a lion, with the Welshman's assessment of the German being a rating of D minus. Maybe we could get him back for less than it cost United to bring Sancho back to Manchester.

Forget about Rob Holding and Callum Chambers being considered as superior central defenders to Dino Mavropanos and Billy Saliba.

Forget about trusting the process or whatever your own eyes may tell you. Suck it up soldier, your an arsenal fan and ours is not to question why, ours is but to witness hope, logic and ambition die.

He’s actually a decent player that is a goal threat from the back, shame he never got a chance and is leaving for peanuts.

Would love to see Mavrapanos come back - he is far more along in his development than Saliba and is also playing in a much tougher league. He would be a great addition to the squad to replace Holding, Chambers of Mari.

So you’re saying we wasted 50 mil replacing Holding, Chambers or Mari with White. Makes total sense.

Nope.

Benjamin White has nothing to do with a discussion on Mavropanos. That's just a doomer agenda taking point for people like you.
Having better depth is a good thing. A player like Mavropanos would actually be a backup to Gabriel.

If you ever even stopped to listen even once you would know exactly why Arsenal bought White and what role they wanted him to play in the team. It is not a role Mavropanos would ever play.

Could have brought Saliba and Mav and saved ourselves a huge amount and then could have brought Bissouma in.

Some genius decided we needed to spend 50 million on some unproven CB however, smart move.

Saliba has nothing to do with a Mavropanos and Ben White discussion, but you still brought him up.

They are two players on loan and have not made it yet in the PL.
They ARE competing with each other for a place in the squad.

Neither is competing for the Benjamin White role in the team.
