Tbh this playing from the back nonsense has been expounded beyond proportion since Pep decided to bin Joe Hart.

We had the likes of Almunia, Senderos, Squillaci, Djourou, etc. play for us and nobody was playing as sexy football as we were during those days. Heck, Lord Bendtner was playing on the flanks. And, we had anti-sexy football merchants like Cech, Walcott, Coquelin, and even someone like Ramsey who's not known for his passing range, and we were still playing possession based attacking football until Wenger's final years.

In fact, I think we played some beautiful football even in 11/12 with that poverty side devoid of technique, bar van Persie and Rosicky, and Arteta to a lesser extent.

I think Sokratis is good. And Luiz only conceded three penalties in 160+ games for Chelsea. He has two for us now.
