That was solid. That communication between Monreal and Kolasinac after they had some joy down the left was great to see. Kolasinac organising the defence early on there.

Still, if we defend in this formation, we can't attack, if we attack, we can't defend.

I know we had like 5 minutes after Luiz got send off but should have tried a switch then

Your description of the midfield issue is an interesting one and accurate.

Against Koln it was the other way round, we had better players to dominate midfield so switched to 4-3-3 to make the most of that, against Chelsea we conceded that idea and stuck with the 3-4-3.

I think one of the issues against Koln was our 3 at the back were moving to wide of each other, it looked more like Mertesacker was defending as a 1 with a LB and RB either side, today the CB's were a bit more compact thank god.
