I'm pretty much in complete agreement with comments detracting from Balogun's efforts last night. I can only assume that it's planned to bring back the Sky TV drama 'Lost' given his auditioning for a leading role.

However, this is the crux of the reasoning as to why it was so difficult to understand why he didn't warrant making his debut last season given the numerous ideal opportunities and gaining the invaluable game time he needed to go into this season with KNOWING what it was all about, and more likely than not to have spent all summer relishing his next opportunity to play in the Premier League but now striving to score or get his first match ball but more importantly having made himself part of the conversation minus the half dozen question marks after his name.

You'd think he, Martinelli and Lokonga would be busting a gut to prove themselves and keep their places. I think back to the first team debuts of Ray Parlour and Kolo Toure and how much they stood out as almost 'trying too hard'. That accusation could not be aimed at anyone in our team yesterday.

I too remember both and agree with your assessment. In fact from his debut performance Parlour could have launched a copyright claim that the Duracell bunny was ripped off from him, whilst Kolo was like someone had slipped a bit of speed into his water bottle, either that or he'd hired Ben Johnson as his personal trainer.

I'll reserve judgement on Balogun until he gets a few more games, under a non-clueless manager.

Martinelli was awful yesterday as well, and we know he is PL quality. Tierney had a bad game as well, tons of crosses into nowhere.

Yeah Martinelli looked like he was going the most complete CF at the club under Emery. Good in the air , great movement in the box . That's how he became a fan favourite in the first place. But since Arteta came in it just has not happened for him. But injuries and having a manager that does not know how to coach you has not helped as well

Arsenal youngester Folarin Balogun has been advised to seek a temporary move away from the Emirates Stadium by his England Under-21s boss Lee Carsley, who believes the forward has a chance to shine this week with his country.

Balogun, 20, joined Arsenal at 8 years old but has found first-team opportunities scant at his boyhood club.

He has only featured three times for the Gunners in all competitions this season and Carsley wants him playing more regularly in order to develop his obvious talent

Hopefully Marseille can save another arsenal youngster

Is Auba afcon bound? If so, we should play guys like Martinelli and Flo in tandem with Laca.

He's had chances and not taken them. Loan him out for the rest of the season.

I don't see a place for him, it should be Martinelli alongside Laca. Balogun cant hold up the ball like Laca and doesn't make runs like Martinelli

He’s a talent. You can’t compare him to either Laca or Martinelli because they are at different stages in their careers.

Are you sure you want to let him go on loan in January? Because if Martinelli got injured then we have to play Nketiah, Lacazette, ESR and Saka every minute if we want to keep the last formation.
