lol, Lehman is not happy.

"Dear #Arsenal Fans , I am sorry to leave the club after only one year again. It was a good experience working with the players as one of the assistant-coaches. But the attitude from our 2004-group is not needed there anymore. — Jens Lehmann (@jenslehmann) June 19, 2018"

its the same place where we got Darren Burgess from, who's now basically heading all of our fitness and physio services

apparently Aussie Rules have some of the best strength & conditioning staff about, and Port Adelaide overachieved massively thanks to their medical and fitness staff

heres hoping we can do the same

It's still mind-boggling how an experienced high-profile manager like Arsène never once in his career had serious regard for the goalkeeping position.

From the staff he worked with, to the goalkeepers he signed, neglected to sign or decided to retain unconditionally.

One of AW's greatest faults imo.

Think Szczesny could’ve been a great goalkeeper for us had he had the right guidance tbh

Fabs less so

I'm pleased Peyton is gone but I'm more pleased Colin Lewin is gone

I just always had a hunch he wasn't all that. Look at the injury problems we had on his watch

Colin Lewin was useless, got his job purely through nepotism.

Crazy how someone as intelligent as Wenger had a backroom full of dolts.

Plebs to a man.

Lehmann was goat
Szczesny woulda been fine if his dad wasn't so involved and he actually had a decent mentor/coach here.
Ospina was a decent buy for a backup

Really he inherited Seaman, moved on spectacularly well to Lehmann. Then came the Almunia blunder era which I would criticise him for.

Since then I think we've had good prospects and at least tried to get good keepers but, I think pre-2015, keepers were far less important than they are now, if you were good enough you could have a decent goalkeeper and win it all (see Barcelona with Valdes) . Nowadays the keeper is practically a sweeper/ball playing cb who starts all the moves and is vital for the top teams way of playing, hence Leno.

Almunia was fine when he first came in and was great in the 07/08 season
