I suspect it is a play to keep in the news by Usmanov.
About four years back I had a conversation with an American ex shareholder who had sold to Stan. All he wanted to talk about was beating Usmanov off. There is no love lost. We must remember who this Usmanov guy really is and what he has done. He also was demanding dividends be paid to him by the club not that long ago. Putin could have him knocked off any time at any rate.
A third party would be best IMO. That said Kroenke is not taking much out unlike the Glazers. The biggest issue is that he is making a appreciation play with the club. Who knows what it would take to buy him out at this point. This may be unrelated, but Stan just lost 1.6 billion due to construction delays on his NFL stadium due to weather over the winter and his stadium is being delayed a year.

The day Kroenke became majority share holder the club died a silent death. We should not have a majority shareholder period. No one person should be allowed more than 49% stake in the club. If Kroenke does sell out I hope he breaks up his holding. But of course that will never happen.

its what football is now.
in a perfect world i wouldnt want him but wenger/kroenke and the board have destroyed the club and i dont see a legit way back.
