That's the issue as shown above in that highlight.

Eddie is only good in uncontested games, I've watched these pre-season friendlies and they're no more intense than a training session.

It gives Eddie no pressure or proper challenging from the CB's which gives him room to be effective, the Premier League will not be like that.

Sure he'll nick a goal here and there but how far are we going to go with Nketiah leading the line against the likes of a Liverpool or Chelsea? who's he going to beat to help us win?

That's my issue with him, of what I've seen Balogun looks more talented.

The days of being able to play for a top team as an out and out poacher are over imo.

He doesn't have the pace, touch or hold-up ability to offer anything else imo.

Give him to Southampton and ask for Ings. He'd do well in a 2 man strike force alongside Adams imo.

He has pace.
I also think he's ok at holding the ball and playing others in. You wouldn't know it but in terms of goal involvement per minute played he was high in the rankings for us last year.
His problem has been twofold. One his shooting from range was abysmal last year and two, he played with no confidence. Like a kid in a men's team.
I was pleased to see him score from range in midweek.

In terms of his career, a loan is pointless now. We should either sell him or give him more playing time. Probably the former.

Something has.
He has had an excellent pre-season - the best of our forwards in fact.
Maybe it's time to give him a decent chance. He only played 400 minutes of PL football last year.
Either that or sell him.
There is no point in giving him a few minutes this year.

Out injured for a month.
Shame for him as he was having a good pre-season.
Might be harder to sell now too.

Players can do well when there’s no pressure and teams aren’t match fit or putting full effort in.

Pre season isn’t a good barometer.

We were getting nowhere trying to sell him, didn’t seem to be much interest.

David Ornstein via Twitter

Crystal Palace ready to pay ~£10m for Eddie Nketiah #CPFC
A German club have same valuation (2 approaches rejected)
Arsenal want ~£20m
Brighton pursued during White deal but #AFC wanted new contract, which 22yo turned down #BHAFC
@TheAthleticUK

1. We need to take that money and run, put a sell on clause and buy back clause in the event he somehow turns good

2. We we silly to reject Brighton should have used Nketiah to get 15-20M of the Ben White fee

3. Edu is useless so many poor decisions in the transfer window, so far the only decent thing he’s done is getting 25M for Willock and tbh Even that’s not really good enough any other club gets 40M for Willock and I don’t even rate the kid

Classic idiocy from us, offer a new contract to players the manager doesn't rate, in hopes that they will agree to go on loan for years. Nelson and Saliba in the same situation.

I support Eddie and want to see him play regular football. Take the deal FFS, he's not Joe Willock,

lol

............. and this is the guy some wanted or were contemplating he'd play up front for us?

A £10m valued striker leading the Arsenal line??

Remember when it was said by JayRam that he's better than Auba ................. I mean what??

"Arsenal hope to offload Eddie Nketiah before the window slams shut.

The Gunners want £20m for the striker, who has attracted interest from Brighton and Crystal Palace.

However, both clubs value the striker at closer to £10m."

I would sell him for 10m, he is crap, a slight upgrade on sonogoals is about it.

Invest some time in balogun.
Keeping him and making the team purely because you can not sell him does not sit well with me,
If you are not good enough you are not good enough, consistency is the key to success not being ok once in a blue f***ing moon
