I briefly thought the same about Joe Willock.

But Willock is a midfielder, so he has to create , distribute and score. It is a harder job for him to keep up the rate.
Nktiah's Main responsibility is to put the ball in by any means. If he has good service ( more likely this time) and a run of games, he might score more regularly.

92 appearances in the senior squad. You say prospect, I say academy lad who couldnt break into the first team. Happens all the time.

What doesnt happen all the time is the bench guy getting a battlefield promotion because the better players above him left. That's what we're paying £100k PW for.

I wouldn't expect any player to keep scoring that many goals at that rate but it's real impressive to see that from a midfielder.

As for Nketiah scoring more next season, we shall see. Strikers tend to have phases. We saw it with Auba and Lacazette. Heck, we've seen Pukki have a run of games scoring loads. I wouldn't get carried away with a short run of games.

Another note... remember 2014/15 Benteke?

I don't expect him to score (5 in 10 , because that's fantastic) at that rate either. I am considering him as a 2nd choice and will be happy if he can get 15 in all comps as a no.2.
Which he might get , because of potentially better service, and more games from all 4 comps, in absence of our two senior strikers.
But , I'll definitely be looking for the 1st choice 20 goal PL striker to get us challenging again.

That's where we differ. I wouldn't say that's the record of an 'excellent prospect'. He'll be a bench warmer for the long time if that's the aim. Niklas Bendtner used to score that amount. Eddie wants first team football and I'm sure he has also set his heights higher.

Yes, if his ambitions are that much, he'll be disappointed; anywhere he goes.
This is actually a promotion for him; from a 3rd choice to 2nd. He has to prove his worth, no other way out.

The £100k and number 14 shirt may suggest otherwise. We'll seen what sort of striker we bring in.

Can't believe this clown has 100k pw and the honour of #14.

Bigger mistake than keeping Xhaka.
