Can't really argue with the numbers
10 goals in 1280 minutes.
Best we've had in the last couple of seasons in terms of a goal rate

He also has 10 goals in 18 PL starts in his career dating back to being an 18 yr old to today.
He looks like a 15-20 goal a season striker and could develop further

Yet no one is in for him despite him being free in a few days time.

Yeah, those League Cup goals really pad his stats though. 5 goals in 21 PL matches this season is less than ideal.

That said, these metrics per 90 are very encouraging.

Most of his matches are sub appearances with a few minutes.
It’s 5 PL goals in 826 minutes of play.
His numbers are pretty good especially when you consider he has really only had a run very recently and banged in all of those 5 PL goals.

Can’t really deny his play this year.
For the time he’s been given he’s been excellent.

Back up or when 2 up top
He’s proven he can do it at PL level now.

Overall this season 10 goals in 1284 minutes of play.

Not saying he hasnt Jay
Ask yourself this Jay come season start if Eddie is leading the line will you be happy?, do you think Eddie is Arsenal quality

NO, but I would like him to sign a new contract for 2 reasons.

1) back up and 2 up top option.
2) even if 1 does not work, if we sign him we are going to get a lot more than anything we get in arbitration now by him leaving. He's just shown he can score at PL level over a few games. I reckon he's a 15-20 goal a season striker in the PL even now.

I dont think he will be as effective as a lone striker next season, defender will know him and what he brings. As a two up front i would honestly prefer a Martinelli or a pepe running off the shoulder of a CF

He has done well but something is missing with him, he reminds me of Danny Welbeck but with no teeth, and Welbeck was not prolific

Is he even signing for us?

Isn't he technically a free agent now?

I thought he didn't want to sign a new contact with us.

I think what he wants is about the same as Saliba, more clarity about his game times. He doesn't always have to be a starter, but surely he won't stay if only promised some sub appearances here and there.

Also talk of him getting 14 as his shirt number.

Makes sense tbf to keep what we have I guess. Eddie Is my boy tbf and Long term contract to secure Eddie’s value as the England U21 record goal scorer. More than good enough currently for Europa League games and could develop to so much more...could also make a profit in the long term with the likes of West Ham, Brighton etc interested . Protects assets value as well , remember he will play mostly Europa , league cup games. Think will sign Jesus anyways , plus Jesus can play on the of the flanks.. as well. We also need Martienlli who is my guy to step up goals wise as well

Also don’t mind Elneny getting new deal as well is fine as 4th even 5th choice CM. Experienced and hopefully won't be overly relied on anyway.

Updated story including details of Arsenal’s offer to Nketiah. Five-years, £100k-a-week circa, up to £5m bonus over course of the deal. Deal not done but on course.

The deal seems rather generous , but happy that he is continuing w/ us. He had shown some promise and looks like keen to prove himself. Good to have him as a backup striker. One less worry, as strikers are hard to come by.
