Maybe we don't want to shift him.
If we can command 34 million for ESR who has started only one game in last 2 seasons, surely we can command up to 45-50 million for a Striker having started at least in 12-15 matches over last two seasons and has about 40 goals in PL/ FA/ EU/ CL combined ?
Besides, this is all academic, since it depends on the player and the manager how much each wishes ( player himself and the mgr) to stay or to leave/ be gone.
Nikh and ESR had different functions and played different roles hence the needs for each player for Arsenal were different.
Arsenal had different options for a no8 and also in the wings had established/proven players in Martinelli/ Trossard, so ESR was in a difficult position.
But Nikh, can be started in certain games, provides a different option from both Havertz and Jesus so has some use for the team.
I'm not saying he's absolutely necessary, but definitely at a much better situation than ESR was. Again, if a good offer comes along will they negate it ? Probably not, but who knows? Ultimately depends on the mgmt team of Josh/ Edu/ Arteta.

Nktiah has scored 14 goals in last two seasons, where he has started in about at best 15-16 games. Most others been 10-15 min cameos to secure the games when we were comfortably leading with no intentions of attacking.

Yes, his goal scoring record given his minutes and starts is actually good.
Must be one of the best 3rd choice 9’s in the league.

3rd choice but on £100k a week. He needs to go.

He was 2nd choice when he got that contract. Also saying his third choice when his minutes were not in fact third choice minutes are kinda over the top.
Hes not good enough for Arsenal ,but everyone likes to make him out to be this god awful player which is not exactly true.

0-2 down at home to Villa, Eddie subbed on at 90'. It'd be funny if it weren't true.

I would say take the €20m and run. Nobody is coming in for a 4-5 goals a season backup striker.

Based on what’s he’s done for us he’s probably worth 15 million tops.

We would be lucky to find some mugs willing to pay that lol

We bought Calafiori for 50 mil. There's a sucker born every minute.

I think thats an untrue comment.

Considering we paid £50m for Ben White a few seasons back and he turned out to be value for money and Calafiori is the blued eyed boy of the Italian team, I think its money well spent. Especially when you consider £80m for Maguire and £80m for Fofana!!

You are looking at stats instead of what really matters, ability!

We could command what we did for ESR because he is quality, Nketiah isn't!

It's a ≈£34m plus £4m deal, according to Romano. Only in Swipe's world £38m is equal to £50m.

Also per Romano, Calafiori will be earning ≈£3.37m/year, so we're not exactly breaking the bank here.

Marseille would be willing to pay around £17m for Arsenal's English striker Eddie Nketiah, 25, with talks expected to continue between the clubs over the coming days. (Telegraph, external) Bite their hand off. :hail:
