We all knew once he got a six figure deal that he’d be close to impossible to shift. The fact that the club is doing it two years after his new deal shows how badly they misjudged the situation.

At that time money was tight and we didn't have money for new backup striker. They made the decision that Eddie is ready to contribute to some degree and that 100k was equal to us signing him on a free transfer. It's like a transfer from different club u pay 20m and 20k per week for that player.

It was a stupid decision to offer the wages we did, as Eddie was out of contract and not in demand, the club held all the cards. 2 years on, still no demand for him, albeit understandably.

We still had imo a better young striker on the books when we offered the extra wages,
Was contractual suicide giving him that money was never worth it.

Arsenal are holding out for a fee of at least 50m euro (£42m) for their England forward Eddie Nketiah, 25, who has attracted interest from Marseille.

If this is true, we are not a serious football club.

Not a serious football club...hmmm. 253.7 million earned from performances last season...top of the pile in England.
Nktiah is valued at 42million , means, anything called ' striker's , goes at those prices , at a minimum, nowadays, especially, for one who has scored about 40 goals in all competitions for ' not a serious club' , called Arsenal!

Not cheaper.Would've been same contract for him as well. Why do u think we sold him?Not many strikers would sit on the bench for no money at all.

Eddie being valued at £42m carries the same weight as Mason's Greenwood's mum telling the world he's really a good lad.

Villa have a cash offer from WHU of £35m for Duran, a 20yo who hasn't even been in England a full year.

The books must be f**ked if Edu needs to squeeze out that much in PSR profit.

Balogun is miles better than Nketiah.

If all you want is a goal poacher, Nketiah is better, for anything else and all round forward play its not even close between Balogun and Nketiah, Balogun is miles ahead.

Nketiah speculation, he plays, ESR speculation, he doesn't play. Seems about right for Arteta.
