If I were Kroenke I would tell Arteta to get performances out of the players you have, prove you can do that then you will get backed.

Or is there a magical money tree that I am not aware of?!!!

They've spoken so much about long term plans. Not just reducing the age, bringing through the academy, but also being active in future windows... with Arteta mentioning multiple times about his need to have 2 players in every position.

Saying things like that, when the owners are holding tight on investment, would literally be subordinate.

Maybe with more game time Eddie will perform better? He scored a bit more towards the end of last season.

Jesus
Tielemans
Hickey
Winger

= good summer.

No it doesn't.

Who's going to play CF?

Jesus is not a box striker so it'll be Nketiah ffs.

Look at who the other teams are buying, our team plus above is not fit for top 4 ......... which we've all agreed across the board is the minimum target this season.

If you think that plus our current squad is good, you don't know what good is.

Who's going to play CF? The 50m striker we're about to sign.

Some of the stuff you lot come out with sometimes honestly.

..........are you talking about Jesus?

Because if you are your talking about putting a LWF to play a box CF role just like we did with Auba and look at how that turned out.

Would you put Salah in the box to get on the end of headers etc completely neutralising his running with ball to feet talent? .......... you probably would.

Or is there some other magical CF buy I don't know about?

Wait... Eddie still hasn't signed a new deal. Just seeing reports that we've stated an offer in on the table and talks ongoing.

Agree with this.

We need better, even as a backup he’s not good enough, he can’t come on and change a game.

He’s been offered 100k a week which is way too much for a player of his quality.

I know people say we can get rid, but at 100k a week no one is going to take him off our hands and with a 5 year contract we’ll be stuck with him for years.

I really hope he turns us down, Arteta has always been a fan of his so it doesn’t surprise me he’s been offered a new contract.

He’s getting 100k because of a few games where he scored a handful of goals which were in large part handed to him on a plate.

Yes Jesus. You know the striker that we're in for, to play in the striker position for us.

Would I put Salah up top? Seeing as Klopp trusts him up top, yes. He started Salah up front in the CL final this year. But DiamondGooner on Goonersweb wouldn't so I guess a poster on an internet forum knows better.

And anyway, are you forgetting our greatest ever player? What position did Thierry play before joining us?

Apologise for quoting this rag - but there is usually no smoke without fire

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10905133/Arsenal-boss-angry-clubs-indecision-market-chiefs-drag-heels-signings.html

"Mikel Arteta's transfer window woe! Arsenal boss is angry at club's indecision in the summer market as chiefs drag their heels over signings"

Not a single quote to back up any of their claim. Garbage even by the daily fail's standards.

Of course some will lap it up though.

If Palace and Borussia Mordenglad do dah are the only other clubs interested in signing Eddie why are we caving into his demands ...

Not a chance they're going to give him £100pw and a £5m signing fee.

Arteta is a fan, so that gives him a lot of leverage. What is he worth realistically based on his performances, maybe 50k as week?

Until he bags more goals on average over a season, yes, about that.

However, we do have to take into account there is no transfer fee hence the wages, but his ego of wanting to negotiate more and more is ridiculous, he's got his money, he's more highly thought of by Arteta than most other managers especially anywhere near the top 6.

He should of signed immediately, now he's milking it.

Henry played as a false no9.

............ again, no point even discussing this with you, your clueless if you can't see the difference of the way Arteta wants our CF's to play (more like Giroud) and the way Henry did.

Henry used to start his attacks sometimes out from the left wing, but the difference is Wenger wasn't a control freak who screamed at players if they weren't fixed to their position.

Any way ....... as you were.
