Good luck to Balogun -- he was never going to get a chance. The reason Eddie's even playing is because Arteta's trying to prove a point re; Auba.

Do not get the hype surrounding Balogun. He's a never impressed me but people hype him up so godamn much. If we are comparing Balogun has 30 goals in 50 matches for the u23s in context Nketiah had 27 goals in only 36 matches. I really don't get the Balogun hype. Eddie has improved a lot this season with his dribbling . But ultimately Eddie hold up and link play is not top 10 club level. But Balogun is not the answer.

Eddie has been playing first team football for us since Wenger was here, and it hasn't worked out. He won't even sign an extension. What is the point of coddling him when he has been substandard for so long?

Why did we let Balogun leave on loan?!

Imagine losing Auba to the AFCON, Eddie to Palace and Balogun to Middlesborough.

You couldn't make it up.

I mean we'd have to sign a CF then come hell or high water so maybe its a good thing.

When I read the BOLD part I thought the ITALIC part instantly.

Addition by subtraction.

Surely Arteta and Edu aren't incompetent and will bring in a CF this window.

Has Mr Release Clause got something up his sleeve for us....

If true this would have to mean we have a striker coming in.
By the way, I think Eddie will score 15-20 goals a season if he gets a starting position in a PL team.

You would like to hope not - unless the plan is to try Pepe there or move Martinelli central.

Absolutely get rid of this guy.

The only thing I'm finding hilarious is that we're selling off almost the entire team half way through a season with no signings on the horizon.

Its farcial like a Carry On film.

Like a worse version of 2017/18 when we sold Giroud, Walcott and Alexis in Jan but signed PEA and Mhikytaryan.

Spot on, very poor planning and this odd timing of the sales.

I don’t really understand why we couldn’t get transfers lined up and then done early, we’ve signed the American keeper for the summer, so why couldn’t we line up some deals for January?

I’ve asked this question for the last 10 transfer windows at least

The timing isn't that odd, Eddie is on 0 league goals and will likely end the season that way as well because he isn't starting ahead of Laca. His deal's up in 4 months, may as well squeeze Newcastle for a couple of million.

The fact we are getting rid of Eddie and only leaving ourselves with 1 recognized centre forward surely means we are on the verge of signing another striker? Hope so
