Exactly what we need here. Ran with the ball and a great finish at the end.

He's won me over.

Bring him home. Sack Arteta and play Willock how he's supposed to be played

Dribbled past the entire defense from inside the halfway line before scoring.

Grade F: took a shot when a sideways pass opportunity was on.

Hilarious, even a manager as broken down and weary as Steve Bruce can encourage Willock to look like a top class player .......... yet here we go, back to Arsenal where he'll be strangled back into playing the Arteta way.

Bruce said he hoped his club could test Arsenal with an offer this summer.

"Watching him play you can see a young player enjoying himself and enjoying the freedom that we've given to him, the licence to run forward," Bruce said of Willock.

"He's given us something which we certainly didn't have before.

Now just watch Willock nose dive into a bench player because he must make way for Xhaka obviously.

At the start of the season you said you didn't rate him and he should go out on loan.

So he went out on loan and has done well.

What's the problem?

I suppose the problem is that it shows that MA isn’t getting the best out of his player’s, because he isn’t allowing them to play to their strengths.

He's gone out on loan and flourished. So sending him out on loan was the right thing to do.

He wasn't good enough when he was with us. Nobody on this forum disagreed with him going out.

He wasn’t good enough under Arteta but he’s equalled a record by the illustrious Alan Shearer, under a different manager. What does that say to you?

I don't know to be honest.

On the one hand some might say he was managed poorly by Arteta, and then some might say he was managed well by being sent out on loan. Lots of big name players have come back to their clubs and done well after loan spells.

He was pretty much the same under Unai and Arteta. Usef to run around w/o specific goal or targets. Maybe he was asked to second fiddle to others or not given much of a free reign he seemed stifled. Under Bruce, he got some frredom to express himself and he did well. Diffence being playing for a big team vs a smaller one. Less pressure more opportunity.Similar effect we can see w/Lingard at WH.

It speaks volumes, the lad (if he comes back) will be stunted again, it shows that the clown has zero man-management skills.

Absolutely this. The loan system can be viewed in 2 ways, the player did well in a different environment under a different manager or, the manager sending the player on loan showed good management.

But I don't see it the latter way most of the time. If the player was good enough to flourish elsewhere why couldn't the player flourish at his home club ? If game time was all he needed then surely the home manager should've given him game time. If the system was wrong then the home manager played the wrong system. That said, you can't play 11 systems to suit the 11 outfield players so perhaps the player simply isn't suited to the system desired. In that case sell the player, because you are not going to change the system to suit one player alone.

I personally think its a case of Willock not being suited to the system, he has shown against low-rate opponents in the EL that he can play, but in the Prem for us he looks sub-standard. I don't think Willock is good enough for Arsenal and think he should be sold, I don't care if he goes on to score in every game for Newcastle, he suits the Newcastle system, he won't replicate that for us.

Thats not to say under a different manager/different system he couldn't come good at Arsenal ..... but I doubt it.
