Mesut Ozil's recent comments on Joe Willock following the friendly win over Bayern Munich :

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has tipped young midfielder Joe Willock to be a "big player" and expects him to make a major first team impact this season.

"He knows what he can do, so he is not arrogant on the pitch but he believes in himself," Ozil told the club's website. "Especially yesterday against Bayern Munich, against a big club, he shows his quality. We are happy to have him.

"He was strong last year as well. So of course, if you really work with the first team together always, you feel more comfortable and you believe in yourself more. I think this season, especially in the pre-season he shows his quality and I think he can help us this season.

"At the end of the day, those young players have quality. They show it every day in the training. If they stay healthy and believe in themselves, so I think he will be a big player.

Didn't he play LW every time he played last season? every time i saw him play he was around that area cutting inside on his right foot.

Hes a CM similar to Ramsey on FM.

The first few times I saw him, I wasn't impressed and thought he would be gone from Arsenal. Glad to know I was wrong and I hope I continue being wrong and he develops into a top class player.

Whilst you could see he had that God given natural ability you just can't coach into a player, it wasn't to that absolutely spectacular level and I too initially thought his career would probably see him at best at the likes of a Fulham, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Brighton etc, that sort of level.

Looking back now, my outlook may have been a little bit coloured by the fact that I thought his brother was easily the far better player and my disappointment at losing him at the time, and probably viewed it like losing your wallet with £200 in it, walking home and finding £20 on the road.

On a few occasions this past year or so, and admittedly I don't get to watch anywhere near the amount of football I used to, he has made me consider that scenario the other way around.

Does anyone know how his brother is doing btw?

These deals were always gonna result in loans for ESR , Saka and Willock? I'd rather see this be the end of Mikhi but that's not happening. And suddenly we seem to have too many players in the attacking positions...

Willock is the furthest of our youngsters together with Nketiah & Nelson.
If he's deemed not good enough by Emery for the first team than none of our youngsters are.

I hope they is another reason for him being in paris but I can't see it.
