You'd think so.

Either Saka is on something like £50-60k a week, or ESR might be on that. I don't think there'd be a difference of nearly £50k in their wages.

That said, Villa's bid for ESR definitely played a part in ESR's huge pay-rise. In contrast, no club bid for Saka when Arsenal were negotiating with him.

Either ESR's agent has played a masterstroke, or both the reported wages aren't true.

Personally, I have no issue even if Saka and ESR are on £100k a week. Rather them than our over-paid players. If we sign Maddison and pay him £200k a week, this club might as well shut down.

Yep. Never bothered myself about players' wages as long as they're professional and dedicated.

You don’t seem to be too bothered about performance either to be fair.

On the contrary. I think I'm quite fair in that regard.

You on the other hand have a good old moan come rain or shine. I'm sure if you won the lottery you'd complain about having to ring up and claim it.

NGL last bit got me :rofll:

Anyone that thought ESR might leave needs to have their head examined.

He and Saka are the future of Arsenal.

Hypothetically speaking if Villa get a 100M from city for grealish, let’s say they offered us 50M for ESR would you be happy for the club to take it and buy Maddison?

For me personally I wouldn’t want us to sell ESR even if someone overpaid for him, he’s one of our own and younger than both Grealish and Maddison, given time he has the ability to surpass them imo

ESR is doing more now than those boys did in their first seasons.

Grealish is a good player and I like Maddison, although he wasn't quite up the level he was in previous seasons.
Right now the only player I would place above ESR is DeBryne - but I wouldn't even swap them as DeBryne is now 30.

Barring injury I think ESR is really going to fly this year - I expect him to be starting every game.
By the end of this coming season I would hope and expect he'd be looking down on players like Grealish in terms of standing and transfer value.
