It didn't matter when he was a world-class player. It does when you're a manager or even a pundit.

Contrast that with Pep, who is likable on and off the field. Same for Wenger (at least until 2010).

Jose is hated and he's a world class coach, not saying we should hire Henry but your point is pretty stupid

Jose was never hated by his fans. He had a smug personality that his club/fans would love. The case is different today.

As opposed to Henry. Let him win as much as Jose has before talking. Henry gets a free pass for being a world class player and an Arsenal legend.

But Henry has a smug personality despite being a mediocre pundit who rejected a coaching role at Arsenal. Next please.

To add to this. We need someone that the can come in and get that instant respect from the players as a coach. Henry will get respect of course, but only as a former player. He hasn't done enough coaching yet.

Paul merson is at a loss to understand why Brendan Rodgers doesn't get the arsenal job.

Why does Merse hate us so much?

I can't understand these people. There were two stupid journos the other day and one wanted Howe at Arsenal and other wanted Rodgers at Chelsea.

Like what the?

When clubs as big as Chelsea and Arsenal could hire Allegri, Simeone, Tuchel, Sarri, Jardim, or Low - why in the world would they go for managers in the profile of Howe or Rodgers?

Arsenal are monitoring Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri after being impressed by how he masterminded Tottenham's Champions League exit. (Star)

That's what impressed them?

They're shilling for UK managers, duh.

The same way the journos create unnecessary hype over average English youth products.
