As a wing back he'll learn positioning and responsibility which will stand him in good stead. Wenger has a fine record of developing young players and will shape this guy well.

At 17 most players have position. If none did then you would be able to name more than 2 players. A striker being played on the wing is far from playing wing back. But playing wing back with walcott playing as right midfielder means you cant do anything. AMN on his side could attack because sanchez gave him space and can combine with a player

hopefully better next time in whatever position, position doesn't make ball control and passing go off.

was unable to watch.. but the sentiment, i agree with.

ball control and passing are on any player in any game.

And I will say again
I was at Spurs when 17 year old Brady made his 1st start
He had impressed as a sub v Sunderland at home
So there was a degree of expectation
At white hart lane he looked as though he had won a junior gunners competition to play
The competition being imagine you have never seen a football and are unaware what the game entails
I'm all for if your good enough your old enough but to hang Nelson out to dry after 1 senior game is a load of old bolloocks
Stephen gerrard was a European cup winner and an experienced international but he still on at least a couple of occasions I can remember( one against us) made terrible f**k ups
Young players need to be talked through games
Talkers on the pitch now are as rare as rocking horse shit.
Adams was ours despite being young but I saw him have an absolute mare at Oxford where he seemed to lack a basic understanding of the dimensions of the pitch
We have a real talent on our hands
He needs a bit of love tough or otherwise
Shouldn't be to much to ask of a fanbase to provide a bit of it

Hope he scores today.
Scoring a goal, in any competition, can suddenly do miracles in overall performance.

Can't wait to see him actually play in his position. We'll probably get that chance when he's on another team.

starman, i wasnt hanging him out to dry... but if he had a poor performance lets just call it that
and move one...

it doesnt DEFINE him at this stage by any means.

what i have seen leads me to believe he has talent.

He was played out of position, but my God, he has the same level of understanding as the Ox, constantly running into players and ruining promising breaks in the second half (Didn't watch the first)

Showed his creativity by picking out a particularly creative pass I didn't even think was a possibility in a promising attack. His creative pass had no target though, but props for doing something so unexpected

Not living up to the hype of best youngster ever given to him but not being played in the right position.

Then again I've never seen him play before his appearances this season so f**k knows what his position is

All that matters right now is that he's getting minutes, he's now played a European game in Serbia with a massive crazy crowd.

All builds experience but he does need to perform better. I hate the position excuse, he can still be just as good going forward and show his skills but just be shit at defending.

Got loads of time and probably still needs a loan spell somewhere yet.

This kid is average, dont see good enough dribbling ability in him for him to become a top player, moreover both his movement and passing is poor. young but i dont really see how he's going to improve much.

I think he could be a decent player for us if he learns how to defend and converts himself into a proper fullback/wingback, he doesnt have the brain to play further forward.
