No one uses 4-2-3-1 any more, seems to me Arteta is using a dated formation that basically is trying to copy Wenger but with more defensive players rather than creative.

Not great for me, almost every team in the top 4 in every major european footballing nation uses either 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 but I'm assuming Arteta is going to persist with his formation unfortunately, it also means we need a very specific type of striker.

I am very surprised by that graphic, it doesn't match what my eyes saw. Can someone explain to me what xG means, I thought I knew but perhaps I am mistaken. I thought xG was a metric that showed the number of chances created that should have led to a goal being scored. Does it actually mean the higher the number the more goals we should've scored or does the higher number indicate better quality of chances being created ?

It highlights the areas that I believe we need signings. Was unsure about whether or not to keep Nelson. My memory of him is limited but I don’t think he provides enough of a threat. Someone who scares defenders from the wings would be a good addition. This is why I’ve decided that we should keep Pepe. On form he’s difficult for defenders to handle. Need to sign a more reliable version of him

It has been explained to me before, i find it easier to put the computer down and watch, and this kick the ball towards the goal and its stopped by a defender is apparently a chance

Laca led assists with 8, its no wonder that we looked and were poor offensively.

Kinda makes sense. The attackers around him were all better at scoring goals so naturally, he had finishers to pass to when the inverse was not true.

When your leading assists man is Laca with 8 you know your team is in trouble.

One long term injury to Jesus and it’s back to Nketiah up top. Not sure about having Nketiah as a plan B.

Hope Nketiah can prove me wrong though.

As for now, I think the best option is martinelli or we get someone else in with more experience

Yeah, I'm worried about that too. Can Raphina play up top? Maybe Martinelli?

Thats the only way you can look at this, if Jesus gets injured who will step up and carry Arsenal. Nketiah? Hell no!!!! I literally only see him capable in EL and cup games, I don't see him capable to do the heavy lifting.

Raphina might solve the problem if we can get him.

But like others have said on here we’d need to change our style of play to one that doesn’t leave the cf isolated for Raphina as well as Jesus to work up top and through the middle
