Nope and in recent history the only player I can think of with a similar style of play is Ozil

That's what I thought as well. Arteta and his team should make their plan B quickly. His role is too important if we want to play like last weekend.

At this rate, we're vying for another season with less than or around 60 points.

Goals tally is trending around the periphery of 20/21 and 19/20.

We'll do enough to squeeze into the top-8. That seems to be the glass ceiling for today's Arsenal.

Leicester and Spurs appear to be in doldrums, so that's a positive this season. The silver lining.

Early days.
Let's see where we are around Christmas.
From here on for the next 7 games is where we collapsed last season - taking on 2 from 21 points.
Crucial 2 months coming up.

Players I have no problem with - meaning I see them as good enough to play a role in a title winning Arsenal team:

Ramsdale, Tierney, Gabriel, Partey, ESR, Odegaard, Torreira, Leno, Saka

Players I "think" will be ok in a title winning team:
Auba, Tomiyasu, Lokonga

Players with it all to prove to be in a title winning team:

White, Pepe, Martinelli, Guendouzi, Mari, Tavares

Players with no chance of being in a title winning Arsenal team:

Elneny, Xhaka, AMN, Nelson, Balogun, Bellerin, Nketiah, Holding, Cedric

I'm assuming Saka should also be in the first group? If so that would be 12 players in those 1st 2 groups which isn't bad.

We struggle to create and score goals, same as last season, we did score three against Spurs but they left huge gaps for us to take advantage of, most teams don’t.

Failed to score in 4 games out of 7 so far, scored 1 in two others.

Last season we broke records for failing to score at home for the first time in years.

It’s a common trend emerging.

Yeah absolutely. i will correct it.

As you say, thats not a bad number of decent players at all, which is why I cannot agree with comments that the players are shit.

We have young players that COULD get us there in the future - IF they develop well as a group.
As for Leno and Torreira - please.

Here is the core of the team that will potentially be winners of a title in the future..

Ramsdale
White
Gabriel
Tierney
Saka
ESR
Tomiyasu
Tavares
Odegaard
Martinelli
Lokonga

Everyone else, including Partey by the way , have little to no role in Arsenal's next title-winning side.

If we don't start challenging / get CL football in 2 / 3 years do you really think our best young players will extend / turn down bigger clubs ?

It's the same scenario we had during the Cesc / Nasri / Hleb / RVP days. We develop brilliant young teams but can't convince them to stay together long enough to win anything.

We have a great young squad but we still need to add 2 / 3 top class, ready-made players:

- CM (Bissouma / Brozovic / Bernardo Silva / Kessie)
- ST (Martinez)
- Winger (Raphinha / Mahrez / Chiesa)

Ramsdale

Tomiyasu White Gabriel Tierney

Partey Bissouma

ESR / Odegaard

Saka Martinez Raphinha

The discussion was about winning the title, not top 4 and CL.
I do think we need to be getting top 4 in the next 2-3 years to keep our best players - assuming they develop well.
To be honest it's a bit of a self-fulfilling argument - if we DON'T get top 4 it will mean these players haven't kicked on.

Just realized that we've only scored more goals than Norwich so far. Tied with Burnley, Southampton, and Wolves with 5 goals.

Jesus Christ.
