Don't get too excited. He'll be rubbish again in the next game.

For sure, but i heard on BT Sports that Emery had a long conversation with the guy after coming to his defence with his recent poor performances.

It's a one off but interesting to see him actually have a decent game and stay switched on.

I would love to see this guy finally turn that massive corner he's been navigating for the last couple of years, like a ship with James May and Uncle Albert at the helm.

Would stellar performances in all our remaining games be enough to save his Arsenal career? I don't know, that palace abhorration can still be smelt like someone having walked dog shit into the room, and as such the dye is already cast.

However, if he was to have finally found himself again and morphed back into the defender he was at Valencia, then our desperate urgency for a £70M plus finished article would be significantly lessened.

But knowing our luck, he'll produce his best form, we'll keep him, the team will start next season brilliantly and be right up there until mid November/December when he gets crocked with a season ending injury and we'll be back to square one.

He's 27, but tbh, I think Graeme Souness had it spot on when he said if he doesn't get it now, in his prime years, then he will never get it. He's a not a kid, he's a seasoned, experienced professional who has played in 4 different leagues.

The truth is his performance yesterday is the exception rather than the norm and I think we need to get shot of him in the Summer, even if he performs like prime Maldini from now until the end of the season.

It just hasn't worked out for him at Arsenal.

Actually he seems to have great plays followed by brain farts. It's actually worse than having good and bad games for me. A manager needs to know what to expect from a player week in week out with perhaps a off day once in a while. Ozil the same.

The only thing the don can rely upon is he will fook up sooner than later in the game.

As others have said, based on the law of averages, he’s just a game closer to another brain fart!

Looks like we continue losing top players every year. Madrid will sign him up for 60 million or so

Must be Barcelona and Ajax trying to shore up their defense after giving up 3 goals in a half.

Gazidis at Milan might turn out to be like when you start a 2 player save file of football manager and force one club to sell all of their stars to your main team for nothing, while buying all the buns for massive money.

If he rescues us with a 20m bid, all will be forgiven tbh.
