If we can get 15m that would be great for a guy with 1 year left. Not surprised a big club being in for him, he'd hav a nice change of scenery and be a good deal for them.

Probably would take 12m but better if we can eek out as much as poss since the figures are in euros.

Total no brainer if we get a bid around that amount.

I know he improved a bit under Arteta but we saw what happened against Tottenham when he lost his head completely, he’s still Mustafi and will always do a Mustafi when we least expect it so cash in ASAP!!

Absolutely pathetic fee, why am I not surprised. At this rate we will need to sell 4 players to buy ONE of Partey/Aouar.

Holding isn’t great but I’m more concerned about getting Mustafi, Sokratis, Kolašinac , Torreira out the door.

Don't forget though, the wage bill can only rise by 7m per season so despite all the wages we're dropping off, we should sign new players to roughly maintain it unless we're looking for cost savings in the longer run.

Otherwise all we'll do is reduce our wage bill limit for the coming years. Weird that you don't get any benefit for actually reducing your overall costs...great system ffp.

Injured 28-year-old defender with a questionable performance record, with one year left on his contract?

If we off load 4 players with questionable PL quality at best to get a player who proves to be world class, I'm all for it one or two world class players transcend the team

We broke the Scottish transfer record for Tierney, who was injured for almost all of the last 2 seasons, and picked up yet another knock in training just yesterday. This is Mustafi's longest injury layoff, at about 2.5 months.

We don't even play Tierney in his proper LB role because we have too many injured CBs already, forcing him to fill in.

The PL is full of defenders with questionable performance records. A player that provides adequate squad depth, extensive PL experience, good match fitness and reasonable wages isn't worth selling for 10-15 million, when a replacement with the same attributes will likely cost much more.

Lazio interested in Mustafi

Lazio have opened talks over the possibility of signing Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi, according to La Lazio Siamo Noi.

It is claimed that the Gunners are looking for a fee of around €15 million for the defender, but the club may have to settle for a fee of about €12 million.

The Italian side are on the lookout for experience in their squad and may see Mustafi as the perfect addition.

Take the 12m and run

You're worth more to us than that tbh

Kieran Tierney was 22 years old when we bought him, and he was an integral part of that Celtic team who had him tied down on a long term contract. Mustafi is 28, has one year left on his deal, and is likely not a first-team player when we have all of our defenders fit. They're not comparable.

And clearly his injury status was not a dealbreaker for us; neither should Mustafi's be one for a buying club. He's been a starter for us for the past 4 years, he is worth more than that pittance to us, final year or not.
