We have a good player in Mustafi. He can thrive f he can get rid of the occasional lapses in concentration. We should stick with him - unless we can find a better player to replace him.

The goal shouldn't have counted?

Lets remove Man Cities goals which were wildly offside then talk about our marginal ones first.

Our goals were fine in comparison to that trash that was allowed, in real time I saw Cities goal was way off.

Well, I pointed out Mustafi's goal being wrongly given just to provide a consistent point of view. An offside goal is an offside goal - whether the margin of offside be an inch or 10 yards - and as such it shouldn't count. If we complain about offside calls going against us, I think it's only fair we acknowledge instances where they go in our favour.

Don't get me wrong; we deserved to win the game regardless of one major call going in our favour - just like City deserved to beat us a couple of weeks ago. Calls go for and against you, but if you're good enough to win a game, you will win the game more often than not. That's why I don't complain about the referees too often.

for me
the body parts offside is a bs rule.

He was injured when he gave the ball away so tbf it's a bit harsh rinsing him for that, just insanely unlucky. Would have to know when it happened though because he had plenty of chances and options to get rid before getting caught

Not having it. He thought he was Messi. He is actually just messy.

He was still able to carry the ball forward, which could suggest the injury came later.

Even if it did happen earlier, he should have acted accordingly by trying to kicking the ball out of play.

Instead, he started dwelling...

Can't help but think he's at fault either way.

To blame for the second goal, just like Kos is to blame for the first.

If World cup winners did things like these then well what can you say.

Bad luck everything happened today. Gutted. Hope he is fine. We need him at Southampton.

Come on Mustafi.

He had a complete brainfart.

He knew the player was chasing him and he turned and showed the ball to him.

Inexcusable.

Call it complacency or a lack of concentration. Fact of the matter is, he has these type of moments too often.

How many times has he given the ball away in areas he really shouldn't?

Or when he repeatedly tries to ping balls well beyond his actual ability.

Needs to become more conservative as a defender or these type of moments will continue to happen throughout his career.

Get rid while we still can.
There are tons of better defenders out there. Arsenal deserves better!

Yeah you're probably right. He knew he was under pressure, he could have at a minimum twatted it instead of trying to turn his man when there was no clear pass on.
