I have to agree with this.

As long as he does not try to do too much and does not force passes from the deep, he is very good.

He is probably the only defender on our team that keeps sliding to make interceptions in the box when opponents are taking shots. He has made several important saves this season by doing this.

I am ok with him as the starting CB as long as we have a second CB to pair him with who is better than him.

The problem with our team is the defensive philosophy and training though.

Spot on about the philosophy. Our only defender who is willing to clear the ball far out when out of options is Chambers, and he's been playing for the U21's, not Wenger. Every defender that gets in the starting lineup starts to lose this more and more until they can not make clearances at all. Musafi's slides to stop goals will stop in time too
