League One side Oxford United have signed Arsenal midfielder Dan Crowley on a season-long loan deal.

The 18-year-old is yet to feature for the Gunners' first team but made 13 appearances during a loan spell at Barnsley last season, scoring once.

"Seeing how young players flourish under the manager Michael Appleton was a massive part in my decision," the teenager told BBC Radio Oxford.

"Last season was a learning curve and I can't wait to get started."

Crowley becomes Oxford's fifth signing of the summer following their promotion from League Two.

U's boss Appleton hopes to add two more permanent signings before their pre-season tour of Spain, which starts next weekend.

Arsenal goalkeeper Ryan Huddart has joined National League club Eastleigh on a season-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old was Arsenal's first-choice keeper in the under-18s Uefa Youth League campaign last season.

He was also named as a substitute by Arsene Wenger for two Champions League group matches against Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray in 2014.

Huddart becomes manager Chris Todd's ninth signing of the summer ahead of his first full season in charge.

That's it so far. More players will undoubtedly follow in the forthcoming weeks.

Crowley's looked good from a young age but really has to step up this season, surprised he's still going to league 1 really, should be doing better by now. Good season this year and a loan to lower prem/champ next year would be good.

Agree. Hopefully he kicks on

Waiting to see what happens with Akpom. Chances are he'll either be sold this season or next, unless we promote him to first team squad

Akpom will score a hat trick during pre season v Timbuktu FC and like last season Wenger will see fit not to buy a striker.

Remember a few years back there was talk of BPL B teams like they do in spain, would be nice it finally came to fruition though.

Would be interesting to see our youngsters staring from the bottom and working their way into the championship that way we could promote the starts into the first team and they'd most likely hit the ground running, just look at Bercelona with Busquets for example.

Don't think the FA would ever commission this anyway.

One thing we should look into is setting up a loan system with a club like Chelsea have done with Vitesse, they've even loan out of their coaches this season to help with their loanees.

Toral played v bristol city and was involved In a lovely one-two with Gabriel silva for the 1st goal.
He played in the 1st half yesterday morning as well in a 0-0 draw v the Algerian under 23 team warming up for the Olympics
The game was reduced to 35 mins each half because of the heat
