Can't criticise him, he came in and played well. More of the same please.

Holding and Gabriel should be our starting CBs. No need to buy any more.

Great to see him back in the team, playing well, and for him to be part of a winning side at Old Trafford after he injured himself so badly there.

My thoughts exactly

A great performance. before his ACL at OT he was also having a good season, so hopefully this can be the mkaing of our spine of Holing/Gabiel/Partey/Elneny

He's improving but too early for me to tell if he will be consistent enough for a starting place.

Don't want to be pedantic, but I still remember that challenge by Rashford that caused the injury. Don't think he even got a yellow, but it was obvious immediately that it was a poor effort at a tackle.

One win and suddenly players that have been ciriticised left right and centre and suddenly great.

Takes a lot more than that to convince people surely, how many games have we watched these players underperform? One game against a lacklustre Man U is hardly enough evidence to change your views.

Watching him “defend” against Villa today made me sick.

That defending for the first goal was just pathetic Barkley and Grealish both took the piss while he stood there instead of putting a foot in.

Any chance Leeds still want this guy?

I've now come to accept that the percentage chance of Rob Holding being able to finally fulfill his potential within and be the top level defender we need him to be to help put this club back amongst the footballing elite, is now in single figures.

That he has come across as a very likeable fella who knows what time it is, retained his humility as well as being genuinely liked by team mates and an all round good egg, is why I've stopped short of saying low single figures.

Yes he was a gamble worth taking on recruiting him for a couple of million or so and prior to his injury, was looking like one that was finally paying off with massive dividends to the benefit of Unai Emery, which was no mean feat considering his partners in crime were Mustafi and Sokratis.

I've always likened him to a Johnny Evans or Gary Cahill in being 'does what it says on the tin' types of players, with his Holdinho moment in the sun nothing more than an anomaly, humourous though it was.

Whilst he no longer has that star struck air of 'I can't believe I'm here' about him that was often evident during some of his displays, I think a transfer to somewhere like Burnley, Leeds, Villa (sorry, sorry you've just had to read that name, I know the wound is still deep, open and weeping), Everton, Newcastle or West Ham for a moderate fee, could be the catalyst for getting the very best out of him even if it is not directly to our benefit but to his, as I still believe there's a consistently good player in there but we've so far failed to extract him.

Arsenal FC will still be here long after most of us on the forum are no more, and it is to this end that my sentiment is in regards to the remainder of his career.

He’s rubbish, get rid, let’s stop wasting our time on players who can’t cut it.
