How else do we explain such an out of character performance?

So it's Arteta's fault

Honestly man some of you lol

So how do you explain his targeting of Son? Do you think he decided to do that when the whistle went? Or, perhaps, when the management are talking to the players before the game, they are giving them individual roles to focus on? :dontknow:

Maybe he was told to 'let him know he was there' by someone and he was so stupid he didn't know when to stop or how to turn the aggression off. Honestly, he was like a thing possessed.

Players sometimes lose their head when they’re up against quality players or being given the run around, look at Ayling when we played Leeds.

Thing is when a player has a yellow card and you can see he’s going over the top (and it was clear as day), you nip it in the bud, usually by substituting them.

There’s no excuse really, he’d fouled Son 4 times and was on a yellow, a sending off was on the cards.

Ordinary fans called it before it happened, so it wasn’t a big surprise.

There’s a bit of a discipline issue at the club, Commentators we’re saying Xhaka was arguing with the ref in the latter stages of the match as well.

Manager had the presence of mind to haul Tavares off more than once before HT.

Same needed to be done yesterday after Balding picked up the first yellow. That yellow came after a prior warning from the ref.

He was lucky not to get sent off for that, I thought the ref was lenient with him.

Fact is he tried to make himself the main character but ended up looking like a tw*t, when all we needed was for him to have a steady game.

This is why I wanted us to play 3atb and just counter, if we play open in a game like this we have too many liabilities who can lose their heads

I'm actually shocked Xhaka has been so well behaved ......... although saying that he picked up a yellow as well.

Shortage of CBs due to injury forced Arteta's hand. White was just getting back from layoff. He had to persist w/Holding.
Holding had played well in past 3 games.
Too many defensive injuries has set us back.
Tierney and Tomi for a sizable period and then White, unfortunately.
Now Gabriel is also questionable on Monday.

https://journalbreak.com/mikel-artetas- ... -revealed/

“It doesn’t matter what I say. It doesn’t matter what you say. Now it’s too late, ”Arteta began, before raising his voice and letting his players know how he felt.

“They were 10,000 times better than us today, with everything,” he continued. “We didn’t earn the right to play with them, we didn’t win a f***ing duel, we didn’t win a second ball, we were horrible with the f***ing ball, we had no organization, we had nothing. Anything.

“So now shut your mouth and eat it.

“We could have conceded eight goals and if you see the chances you will cry, you will cry for the way we competed. We didn’t compete in the game at all.

“It’s f***ing embarrassing to come here and work like we did. Embarrassing guys.

“What happened today is f***ing unacceptable and if you accept something like that you live in a different world.”
