Holding was dribbled past 4 times during the Villa game, to put than into context Gabriel was dribbled past 4 times in the last 10 games.

Anyways it just further proves David Luiz is our most elite centre back, nearly on 800 consecutive minutes now without being dribbled past.

When Luiz is back him and Gabriel should be playing together.

Maybe but Luiz makes basic errors as he did twice in on move which led to a goal against Wolves, he did it against Southampton to and does it regularly, sometimes he gets away with it so it goes under the radar.

He’s too unreliable at CB, Gabriel and Mari are probably the best pairing, Saliba probably would have been in there instead of Mari had Arteta given him a chance.

Just like his last start against Aston Villa it’s Holdings poor positioning which led to the only goal we conceded, Sterling isn’t exactly a 6ft5 dominant monster in the air, he’s 5ft7.

He's an awful defender - Senderos level.

Holding is massively inexperienced for a 25yo defender. I think today was his 60th career PL appearance, and he's been with us since 2016.

What was he doing???

He literally watched the ball go over his head to let a smaller Sterling head it in.

Didn't even bother jumping and contesting.

Yep. He wasn't even aware. Really poor and caught sleeping again in under 2 minutes. Bellerin also pissed me off for that goal because he didn't shout to Rob, didn't move in on Sterling despite seeing the run and initially marking him and wasn't even marking the back post properly. Just caught between two attackers and not close to any.

Holding should be dropped for a couple of games. It should be unacceptable.

Sterling was Bellerin's man but lost him and Bellerin/Holding should have been communicating better as to who had who.

If that was Adams and Dixon they'd have been shouting at each other throughout the move and Adams in particular would have been organising throughout.

Think Holding played well after the initial error( pretty basic though). But hardly having a whisk of a goal in the rest of 95 mins was appalling.

Shouldn't be a starter for us, too slow and immobile to be top level , Gabriel has the qualities to make it and so does saliba, strong and athletic. I would also say Mari is like a Spanish Holding, slow and looks lost when someone runs at him, Mahrez turned him inside out a couple of time yesterday and he was beaten way to easily by Cancelo when he should have scored, turned his back on the ball which for a centre back is unacceptable, if Cancelo put that in then Mari would be getting slated on here.

This is the crux of the problem with Arteta ball. We are scoring only about 2/3rds of the goals we normally score in a league season. Yet the defense hasn't improved by the amount needed to make the attacking trade-off worthwhile. Our GD was 20+ in the Mustafi era, it's +5 now.

Holding and Luiz are not players that will have a lot of clean sheets.
