Amazing what a run of games does

Criticised too much IMO too quickly. Looks steady when given a run of games. Also, needs a partner who can be consistent or can grow to be consistent together. A CB partnership is key, not just the individual players

Good game yesterday, but it's one game, he's had plenty of bad games, Luiz has the odd good game but it doesn't make him good.

Not sure he's good enough, he's been here quite a while now but hasn't been great, I personally think he's one of those players Arsenal fans have overrated over the years when he hasn't done anything to justify the hype.

Haven't seen much of Saliba, but I'm more hopeful about him than Holding.

Don't think that's the issue.

He was amazing for us in the FA Cup run in 16/17 too. He's not been consistent yet. It doesn't help him that we've been a chaotic mess since that FA Cup win. So, there's that too.

If I'm correct in my assumption, he's also Wenger's last signing at Arsenal. As in a signing that Wenger initiated.

We miss Per's calm head in the backline. Our CBs have mostly been clown-ish since.

Yep they were all trained by Per in the aerial arts hence why we are usually so shit in the air, nothing like a giant of a CB that cant get his feet off the ground to win a header, if Per hadn't been so tall he would have been nothing IMO

on Rob Holding not playing despite good performances...
Sometimes it's the position, sometimes it's the momentum of the players, when we don't concede in three or four games in a row everything is really positive. Obviously when you concede two goals like today... Why are we not playing someone else? Rob has done really well when we've demanded him to play and he will be ready to play when we demand him to do so I'm sure.

The guy has been here 4 years, is 25 years old and has yet to complete one full season of PL football. That is why Mustafi and Luiz start before him.

He is the second worst CB at the club. Only Chambers is worse. As bad as Mustafi is, he is easily better than Holding

I rate him but i think he's going to get shipped out in the summer because he's not good enough with the ball

Got picked because Mustafi has been rested for the game at the weekend, in reality he's our best CB, he's nothing amazing but he can defend at least, but Arteta doesn't fancy him (probably because he can defend - he seems to like Luiz and Mustafi who can't), he'll probably be dropped for the weekend game.

Same goes for Torreira, he should start most matches for us as DM, but again Arteta doesn't fancy him and prefers Xhaka.

He's got a strange idea of what makes a decent footballer.

Maybe CB pairings for next 3games will be Musti, Holding & Tierney. He has to try out every one before settling on one set.
Surely Luiz had his chances throughout the season, and his report card looks all in red.

he is only better than chambers imo. He doesnt do as clear errors as Mustafi. But he cant do close to the defending Mustafi does as well many times. he is just average in every sense

Pretty sure either him or Chambers will be sold or loaned out next season. Mustafi and Luiz are staying, Mari and Saliba are here as well, plus we have Sokratis with zero resale value hanging around too.
