not quick, not strong and not great in the air. Unless you are elite at reading the game, you are not gonna make it at the highest level. Is he elite at reading the game?

Mangala is quick, strong and good in the air.

Doesn't stop him from being an erratic, error-prone defender.

If you have zero positional sense, you can forget it at the highest level, regardless of whether you are physically imposing or not.

true, but mangala is also much better than holding. You do know he is just in completely different standards?

no....but its huge plus. Problem is holding has all the flaws and none of the athleticism that can save his ass

That's beside the point. I never made a comparison between Holding and Mangala.

'Twas an addition to your initial point, which I did agree with.

Good signing him on. He's got the tools to play. Needs better coaching. This guy didn't crumble against Costa and Chelsea at a Wembley final when it mattered.Whilst having mertsacker as partner. He's another gem like mavro. Already has 22 appearances. Better coaching and he'll be a beast for sure.

think a loan would be nice for him but it needs to be the right club. chambers to boro was okay but ideally it needs to be to a proper footballing side

As usual another player that has shown potential but has also looked piss poor. I agree, a bout of good coaching would probably help him develop

it pretty much covers most of the young guns. proper coaching can go a long way. at least holding has shown potential to be stout when he handled the likes of costa at the fa cup final.

since then he's been inconsistent and poor.
cheers!

Even in chaotic mess that was Arsenal defending under Wenger, he still managed to look like a really promising prospect.

I'd like to see him used.

Thought he was solid today. Really want to see him next to Sokratis going forward (obviously depending on extent of Sokratis injury.)
