I agree imo he is my no1 choice for captain.

I don't even think it suits Auba being captain, strikers need to be fancy free and not have responsibility because they already carry all the weight of scoring goals.

Strikers naturally need to be a bit selfish for their roles.

For me Captains should always be either midfielders or defenders.

Tony Adams, Roy Keane, Vieira, Sol Campbell ........... those sorts of players.

Nothing to do with Celtic having hard games or not. My point is you judge a player by the team, without doing any form research or insight.

Agreed, Tierney has been a beacon of hope this season alongside Saka and now ESR.

I also agree that captains should be defenders or midfielders. Strikers mostly seem either flashy or greedy, midfielders and defenders tend to have the temperament of a traditional British captain. I think the role in British football has far more meaning that it does elsewhere.

Completely agree, can think of very few good striker captains and usually it’s at lesser clubs where the striker is by far the king of the team.
