A nice piece from Charles Watts regards Bellerin's relationship with Tierney and his pretty much captain's like approach to accommodating his new team mate.

I hope the irony is not lost that until recently, Bellerin himself was often the subject of discussion with regards to the issue of captaincy, but would now be a country mile behind the scot in a poll for the armband.

Nice to hear a bit about what actually goes on behind the scenes. Some players are real 'team players', which Bellers clearly is!

Tonight's game against palace is further proof if any is needed that we have been getting away with only having one proper full back in Tierney, and is an imbalance that seems to be getting over looked as addressing issues elsewhere within the team has wrongfully been given greater priority instead of equal.

Recent talk has raised the question of whether Robertson is still considered to be the best of the two Scottish left backs, but in the neo Scouser having Alexander-Arnold or James Milner as his partner in crime, the evidence is there for all to see that in having that balance and impetus provided by the pair it actively benefits the team in the defensive, midfield and attacking thirds of the pitch.

Yeah, hearing the MRI bit from Arteta was not encouraging, not that it guarantees bad news of course. Never on the field of football has one left back been missed so much by so many teammates.

Edit: Really interesting article by the way, cheers for posting.

I really think we missed Tierney a lot today. Maitland Niles was awful, he kept giving the ball away constantly. Tierney was a big miss, I hope he will be back for the next match

Never good to hear a manager say he doesn't know how long a player will be out for.
Hopefully, the MRI comes back ok.

Whether Tierney has the physical capability to play at this level week in week out is something he still has to prove.
Very disappointed to see him injured again.

The Athletic

Kieran Tierney could be fit for Arsenal vs Newcastle after having scan on injury

Kieran Tierney’s injury is thought not to be serious and the Arsenal left-back could be available for their next Premier League game against Newcastle United on Monday, David Ornstein reports.

The 23-year-old missed Thursday’s 0-0 draw at home to Crystal Palace as a precaution after picking up a calf problem ahead of the game.

But The Athletic understands he has not suffered a muscle tear and may be fit for Newcastle's visit.

What happened?
Tierney pulled out a few hours before Arsenal welcomed Palace to the Emirates and there were concerns over how long he might be sidelined.

He was replaced by Ainsley Maitland-Niles with Sead Kolasinac having been loaned to Schalke for the rest of the season.

The Scotland international underwent an MRI scan to discover the extent and it is thought the damage is relatively minor.
