How patient?

We all knew about Tierney's injury proneness before we got him. With our medical staff and his injuries, I'm surprised he isn't dead yet.

As for partey, he can't handle it. Sell. Bring in doucoure or tielemans. Preferably both. Both are comfortably better and less injury prone

Anyone seen this tackle by Tierney to stop a certain goal yesterday?

From the penalty rebound

People keep going on about it but no one is putting a video up

Never mind. Found it.

Impressive

In having viewed his last couple of games for Scotland in trying to gauge his level of fitness and Premier League readiness for battle, I've come to the conclusion that now is the time to restore him to the starting XI ahead of Tavvares who has been excellent in deputising for Tierney and achieving a similarly high quality of performance.

The factors of the positivity he's currently enjoying at both club and international level, that he will be taking his place back in a winning team becoming more and more familiar with positive outcomes while less accustomed to abject failure and demoralising performances, and that he will be up against one of the deadliest wide forwards in the game in Mane as well as his international captain Robertson is why I believe our marauder-in-chief is primed for the game on Saturday evening.

I think the position should be Tavares's until such a time as his form drops or he gets injured.
I don't think it would be right to put Tierney back in when his form has been off colour (even before his injury).
That said - against Liverpool - I would not mind seeing us play 5 at the back with Tierney AND Tavares in there.

I would start Tierney over Tavares with Saka ahead of Tierney. They would link up better and create more chances from the left for Auba. Tavares is too wild. There were a number of chances when he could have fizzed a ball across the box that he instead chose to blast over the bar.

So much more quality in his play than Tavares. Got to be the starting LB/LWB.

Don’t agree.
I’d take Tierney - just - as the starter for now.
If Tierney is on form he’s dangerous , but his form was poor before he got injured and lost his place.
Tavares did very well.

Also didn’t like some of Tierneys positional play last night. West Ham had an easy ball to their wide right in space all night because Tierney was giving him too much space. He’s got to get better as a defender. Actually think Tavares is a little more solid as a defender.

Think you can give him space Jay if you close down and harass quickly

Tierney seems to do that better than Tavares. The last game I saw Tavares seemed to amble out to put pressure on, whereas Tierney will sprint out. I think it's good to have both, but Tierney is a cut above Tavares and most left backs in the league

I think it's close - and as I said, I would slightly favour Tierney.
We were not punished last night for the space their wide player had on Tierney's flank...maybe it was by design, but it made me nervous. I saw it first hand as well in the Chelsea game earlier in the year and spent a fair amount of time watching his movement. He wasn't able to recover his positioning against James and it hurt us.
Tavares is pretty close overall and that is a good thing - last year we had to play Xhaka at LB when Tierney was injured!
I just hope we can hang on to Tavares if he is to be a back up - there might even be a role for him further ahead of Tierney in some matches.

Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney is a player that Real Madrid have their eye on, claims El Espanol.

The Blancos are in the market for defensive reinforcements and will continue to monitor a Scotland international at Emirates Stadium as they mull over an official approach.

lmao this is pure clickbait.

Tierney isn't good enough to start over Mendy, and Madrid has so many more options for a backup that won't cost at least €60 million since Mr. Tesco will have 4 years left on his contract in the summer. Could get Reguilon or Fran Garcia on a buy-back. Could promote Miguel from Castilla. Alaba and Nacho can play LB.
