Did he join Chelsea? no, he stayed loyal. Which means you are wrong.

Gerrard and Lampard is one of the worst ever midfield partnerships, Chelsea would have flopped if he went there.

Doubt it.

A big reason José had success at Chelsea is because he had Lampard partnered with Makelele and then Essien; Gerrard and Lampard are too similar - plus I don't think Mourinho would be comfortable with such an attack-oriented midfield.

Jose would've made it work tbh

Gerrard changing his mind f***ked England up cos Sven would've done what Jose did.

How so?

One is an AMC who makes great runs into the box and scores a lot.
One is a proper CM who sprays long balls everywhere and makes the team tick. Still gets forward (so some space cramping sure) but does a lot of his game from deep.

Both are box-to-box CM's; Gerrard was the superior and more disciplined player so could play the classic anchored midfielder better than Frank.

Lampard was capable of pinging balls about as well, both were great long range shooters, and would have occupied similar areas on the pitch - though Frank's natural inclination was further forward than Gerrard's.

I saw enough of their shit play for England to know it wasn't a partnership conducive to success, even with Jose I don't think it would have worked.

gerrard and lampard couldve worked if we didnt try to shoehorn scholes into the team at all times

as good as scholes was id have preferred to get the best out of lampard and gerrard than out of just scholes

Wouldn't base anything on England performances with the amount of players who underperformed for our country, even Rooney, despite his goal tally, has rarely been a beast for us.

I think Scholes is a better partner for either one. If anything Lampard should have been dropped.
