He will enjoy the perks of our medical department for the first few weeks/months. Have some great banter with Wilshere.

He will help the team cohesion so he is like a new signing. Jenkinson banter lifts the team morale and gets you 10 more points every season.

Makes sense that they terminate it - as their are rules for having so many players in on loan etc and he is no good to them injured.

With Debunchy gone; he will be given pre season to demostrate the level needed to be first choice back up. As Wenger will not buy a RB that will hamper Bellerins progress i.e. better than Bellerin so it is a back up from within for Bellerin or buying another Jenkinson / Chambers 2.0 for no good reason.

Wenger will give him a chance to impress in pre season. He could be Bellerin's backup if he chooses.
Carl actually has some decent qualities. Good engine getting back and forth, physically strong, good crosser of the ball. Problem is he lacks concentration and is quite immature. Makes very costly basic errors. He's another English player that Arsenal bought too early and now dont know what to do with. Put him in the same category as Ox and Chambers.

Just another typical English player that is being rated higher than his actual worth. I'd rather have a good foreign backup than having average English players just to maintain our homegrown rule.

But there's no choice in that matter? Homegrown rules aren't about what you prefer, they're rules

Maxes out as a decent backup to bellerin here. Kinda like a shit version of Gibbs.

Hopefully we keep him though. We could do a lot worse for hg players and I like him as a guy (gooner)

It's this type of sentiment that we cling on to these average players that prohibit us from signing actual great players, even for backup purposes.
Being a nice guy shouldn't make you earn 50-70k a week, performing like a player that earns 50-70k a week should. Bear in mind that the English wages are horrendously inflated compared to Spain/France/Germany. None of our English players would earn more than 50-60k in other countries if they were performing like they are now (Ramsey, Walcott). Players like Gibbs/Jenkinson/Chambers should be max 25-30k.

That's a fairly short-sighted view when the entire market is so inflated.

This is a league now where shit like Stoke can offer 20m plus for players, and even offer the wages to entice them to sign a long-term contract.

50-70k a week is the 20-40k of 7 years ago.

Stoke gives out high wages to playerrs that they buy to start in their first team. We give high wages to young talents that have done f**k all, and after a few years we are obligated to give them a pay raise, which they 9/10 do not deserve. This is how Walcott is sitting above 100k a week. That is the big difference with Arsenal and other PL clubs. At least Chelsea loans out their useless talents to other clubs every season, so they are not paying their wages. We keep on paying the wages for our young players that don't have to perform because they know they won't get paid more anywhere else for the input they give.

It's why Arsenal is a love haven for young British players, luxury wages and no balls to ship them out when they don't perform.

I don't mind buying young British talents every 2-3 years, but if they don't work out after 2-3 years, then it's time to say goodbye. Not insist on keeping them because of the HG rule and consequently increasing their paychecks for doing f**k all.
