Crazy that we went from van Persie to Giroud to Auba.

That's such a stark rise, fall, rise.

What's interesting is Keown said the consensus among our famous back four was that Campbell was better than Adams.

And penalties
And headers
And near post goals flicked with the outside of his left foot
And target man play
And beards
And adultery

Giroud > Henry, clearly.

We wouldn't have won the final even if Alexis were playing. Chelsea outclassed us. With Giroud, however, I think we'd have beaten Atleti to advance to the final in 17/18.

I'm not criticizing Giroud. He was what he was. But we were uninspiring up top during the Giroud years and all he managed was 16 goals as his season's best tally. Not his fault that he had to succeed van Persie though.

As far as the cups go, he has his contributions. Nobody will take anything away from him. But the one man who has more than a hand in cup finals for us, which people rarely seem to talk about, is this certain guy who also happens to be the 2nd best player we've had in the Emirates era. His name is a certain Alexis Sanchez. ;)
