All this talk reminds me of the GOAT post I made in reaction to India's world cup win in 2011.

I don't know the first thing about cricket. There is a park near me here that these Indian gentlemen use to play cricket every weekend, weather permitting. Always tempted to go and ask them to teach me.

It's a very technical sport. It will take practice for you to enjoy it.

I always found the intensity of the batsman vs bowler matchup exhilarating. Very fun sport, would recommend, but be sure to bring sun block.

Teams to lose a maximum of one top-flight game in their opening 30 matches

0 - Arsenal (2004)
1 - Leeds (1974), Liverpool (1988, 2019), Arsenal (1991, 2008), Chelsea (2005), Man City (2018)

*Of these sides, only Arsenal in 2008 did not go on to win the league

Arsenal will play Bayern Munich in preseason game in Carson this summer

European soccer giants Arsenal and Bayern Munich will meet July 17 in a preseason game at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.

For Arsenal, fourth in the English Premier League standings and a quarterfinalist in the Europa League tournament, the Southern California visit is its first since 2016, when it beat Chivas of Guadalajara in a friendly in Carson. That was the same year club owner Stan Kroenke, who also owns the NFL’s Rams, moved his football team from St. Louis to Los Angeles.

Hmmmm, Charlotte or DC is a good long drive from where I live, but might be worth the road trip this summer. LA would be a bit too far and expensive.
