Due to the debacle occurring at Barcelona, the opportunity now exists for us to try and exploit it to our advantage.

A straight forward offer of £20M plus Hector Bellerin for Emerson Royal would be the primary objective or alternatively try again for Sergino Dest.

Yes, the Brazilian has just arrived at the club from former co-owners Real Betis, but he's effectively just walked straight into a shit storm the recriminations of which are yet to begin and threaten to make Barca the footballing equivalent of Iraq or Syria with blood letting aplenty ahead. That he has just been purchased outright doesn't make him immune to further immediate business in the football world, as those of us gooners who have suffered the shock of discovering their first grey pube can testify to in recalling Clive Allen and Kenny Sansom.

We know that Dest has only recently been on our radar and apparently expressed a reluctance to leave the Basques in favour of sunny north London, but when they are showing you the door and positioning André the giant's right boot behind you because they desperately need the money...

I can't see Barca falling for it. Hopefully they will but Hector's stock has fallen and they'll need a lot more to lift the Barca fans if Messi walks.

What the Heck has happened to Bellerin? It's like he's lost his focus and passion for football overall.

It’s sad the way things turned out with Bellerin was immense as a youngster, he’s only 26 now he should be one of the best right backs in the world now, but he’s more like 34 year old fullback who’s past it these days.

We paid Barcelona 500k for Bellerin as a youngster anything we can sell him for is good profit, hopefully inter send some of that Hakimi/Lukaku money our way

Imagine failing to get a fee for a 26yo EPL veteran.

Watch him leave us and turn into one of the best full backs in the world.

That scenario is indeed significantly more possible than it is probable Big Tone, and in itself would prove to be a damning indictment of both his character and professionalism so as to completly tarnish his arsenal career with the justified conclusion that he preferred if not chose to be the embodiment of failure and under achievement during his time in North London.

Granted, the feasibility of such a turn around outcome could become tangible upon him undergoing extremely intensive one-to-one coaching from Paolo Maldini and David Ginola to develop all aspects of his game, but I'm not really much of a one for engaging in the world of fantasy football or believing in fairies, the loch Ness monster or Santa Claus.
