According to some of his former high school friends, his defensive technique may have developed from him winning fights with classroom bullies by using his face as a weapon to break his tormentor's wrists and hospitalising them for weeks.

The reference to our rejecting a £25M offer from PSG for him is one thing we may now look back on as an opportunity missed, but that's no way near as damning as the consternation of those who thought we were being lowballed given he was worth £40-50M.

I've commented enough on his defensive frailties in the past to the point of feeling sorry for the bloke that his rights to a duty of care are clearly being neglected by the club in permitting him to self harm.

I would have drove him to his new team and all.

Just do not understand why he's still a player here.

Let's face it, he's never ever been good enough.

He's Andre Santos with less muscle and flair but more pace, defensively he's worse than Santos especially right now.

We have many issues more pressing than the right back position.

He's OK but £25m was a good offer. Pepe and Willian can put in crosses too.

I think he's better offensively than AMN, but IMO AMN is better as a defensive player. Which is something we could use right now.

I'm not sure that's true, it's a huge weak link in our ability to keep clean sheets and that has been the foundation for our improvement.

The left side of our defence is more than capable. The right side is awful (RCB/RB).

Midfield wise we have a capable pairing in Partey and Elneny if Arteta realises to use them regularly. The only concern I have greater than the right half of our defence, is our lack of creator in the third CM/CAM position OR equally a creator from the wings which would mean we could cope with Xhaka or Ceballos in the third CM role.

He has holding or mustafi behind him. Surely the RCB spot is more of an issue?!

Luiz is our main RCB and been largely fine since the City shocker. Agree that both are a problem though and hence I was talking about the entire right side of defence - RCB and RB.

If I had to pick, it'd be a new RB as a back 5 can mask the CB flaws, in both setups Hector is exposed.

Theirs a simple solution to this which won’t cost us a penny, play Maitland-Nile’s at RB and make Bellerin work for his place back, Holding should not be playing ahead of Mustafi/Chambers either both of them are far better.
