His game is only limited to kick and run. He is effective only when he has open space to do just that kick and run. Any semblance of resistance and he shits himself

Yeah, I'm not saying he had a bad game at all, I thought he was very good today, as was most of the team, it was just funny when the panic occurred.

I am not sure which I am perplexed with more..

The fact that barca offered 60m for him

or that we refused.

He is a one trick pony with glaring weaknesses in his game and the most disturbing of all?

He is not improving!

He seems to have an offensive sense that is sound... but his end product is lacking... never scores, rarely assists in situations where it looks like a goal incoming.

60mil??!!! :dizzy:

He DID launch one into the stands after one of our corners went bad...showing that he learned from last weeks howler that led to Salahs breakaway...

THAT was an improvement... he catch-up speed still a plus and he DID learn that ONE thing...

l wonder if his plateau will remain...

not sure if he'll make headway or not, though it looks more like not, imho

Sound? He gives away the ball at an alarming rate. even his simple passes are off the mark most of the time.

He has one game. Kick the ball ahead and chase it faster than the other guy.

And dont even get me started on his crosses.

His development has totally plateaued after a couple of very promising seasons. Would have received a stupidly high fee from Barca had Wenger agreed to let him go. Maybe then we could have gotten Lemar.

Simply not true ... his pass rate was 84% ... his opposite number Kolasinac was 74% ..... that said he got our lowest OPTA rating of 7.1 (which is still higher than all the players last week) ......

Two great crosses early on

Then turned back to his moronic self.

What a dumb foul at the end, there were two people covering behind him, had zero need to do that.

Foul was fine, he was probably pissed we didn't get the foul (on Ramsey I think) just before. We weren't gonna score anyway.

Think he was bang average bar those couple of crosses

Alonso kept destroying him aerially, and then he was so, so narrow, leaving Alonso free out wide too.

Just like Bellerín was beating Alonso for pace which lead to 2 of our better chances. The cross to Welbeck and the cutback for Lacazette. Predominantly more dangerous than Alonso tbh.

I thought today was a good game from him in a very very long time.
