We have a good group of players who need play possession football again and cut out the ills of Emery. Given Freddie a freehand, he could fix the gap problem between defense and midfield. Wenger will be director until Freddie comes up to speed.
Worth a try for rest of the season. I'm sure will be great with the players , feeling relief, out of the vice like grip of Unai.

I was suggesting Eddie Howe years ago and still think he would be a better bet than almost anyone else I can think of.

I like Eddie Howe, but I doubt if he would like to jump in the middle of a season w/o enough homework on the players and the system.

I don't want to hear Man U had shit players and Mourinho had nothing to work with. Mourinho spent a f***ing fortune there.

So if Ole had a shit squad it is the result of Mourinho's flop signings!!

I think he would jump ship. English managers don’t get many chances at big club and if he refused now. I don’t know when his next offer is gonna come from. I guess spurs will be available next year. But that’s a big gamble to wait for that. A young manager like Howe knows Arsenal is perfectly set up for him

He definitely would.

no to howe. he's had some drubbings vs the big teams, plus he's another all out attacking manager, so i don't think he'd fix our defence.

also im reluctant to hire a british manager because their signings tend to be suspect... i remember rodgers at liverpool was buying some poor players and slowly decaying their squad. continental managers seem to have a wider horizon and more ambition when it comes to signings... howe's used to signing players in the lower half of the table/players in the championship, we dine in the upper echelon/one tier below, not 3 or 4 tiers below. so i'd see our squad slowly decaying with him in charge (and yes i know klopp has bought relegated players and turned them into world class players but that's klopp, i don't regard howe in the same bracket. im also aware howe would be working with edu and raul but i don't see howe as someone that would motivate top players).

must admit though it would be weird being liked as a club. imagine the media actually liking us.

British managers buy British players because that's all they know. There isn't a single British national managing a Top 4 team anywhere in Europe. As a result, those managers have no appeal to top foreign players.

*If we change "Europe" to "abroad", your point does stand.

People who want to be captain but don't want to play well or players who like to make all the decisions.
