Xhaka still didn't justify his price tag, but he's on his way. He showed glimpses of his quality in the last few months

For 35m hes been garbage.

At least this guy is free. If he flops as is likely, we can still make a profit

Don't watch World Cup champions league Europa league then ?

Hope he surprises us, but he didn't really look great for Shalke .
Hardly Arsenal quality

How can you say he didn't look great for schalke yet he's in the Bundersliga team of the season? :dontknow:

Alaba is the only real WC LB in the BL and he didn't have a great season.
Schalke as a team have been pretty awful all year.
Don't get me wrong, from what I've seen this guy is quite solid, just not top quality at all.

Schmelzer, Guerreiro, Bernat, Rodriguez, Wendt aswell. There's not just Alaba.

Jonas Hector from Cologne and Plattenhardt from Hertha Berlin had very good seasons also. Pretty sure both would of been in contention.

When i've seen him play for Germany he's been very average or pretty poor but he's had a good season for Cologne. Schland will back me up on that.

In terms of money spent yeah.

Arteta was bad though

Hard to choose

Arteta's first year was brillant.

Xhaka is even slower than Arteta in his final year.

Xhaka has been diabolical, what possessed us to part with 35 million for this unknown in the 1st place, that's the kind of quality you get in the Bundesligue (other than at Bayern and Dortmund) so not expecting much from this new guy.

But like Cripps says at least he's free so we can flog him at a profit when he doesn't work out. This guy played in the Euros, can't say I remember him being a stellar performer, scored a nice own goal though :rofll:

Jury is still very much out on Xhaka.

Far cry from the "next Alonso" claims heralding his arrival.

His form during the last couple months of the season has given him a stay of execution.

He owes a lot to Ramsey tbh; hopefully they can build on their promising partnership.

Ramsey also owes a lot to Xhaka

Partnerships work both ways, they also need a manager who builds a system to not expose weaknesses which is why Xhaka & Rambo compliment each other well

Pair them two with absolute garbage like Coq and mediocrity like Elneny then it's not gonna work

Ramsey saved our season. His return was the catalyst.
