you gotta love a shot that curls away from the keeper. Once the ball starts to move the keeper has a split second to decide where he is moving to, to reach the ball. But when that ball keeps going away from him, the ball suddenly isn't where he thought it was going to be. And you can't find more distance in mid air!

Arsenal and Egypt midfielder Mohamed Elneny, 28, wants to sign a new contract and says he did not think his Gunners career was over when they sent him on loan to Besiktas last season. (Evening Standard)

I'd keep him 100%.

For the what £6m we paid for him, unless someone wants him for £18m what's the point in selling?

He's a very good squad CDM, doesn't cost much and will help cover us with injuries etc, he also know's and accepts his place in the pecking order.

We can't afford a whole squad of star players, we're not Man City.

Sell and buy Yves Bissouma. Also bring back Guendozi.

.............. but that's the issue.

Why would we buy Bissouma when we already have Xaka and Partey?

You don't need to answer that by the way, I'm stating what is going through Arteta's head.

Well let me tell you what’s going through my head. Firstly, Elnono is a 28 year old pubber that has been with us for five season. He can’t start and nobody will make an offer for him. Not even Besiktas where he was on loan. It’s insanity to offer him a new deal. Xhaka is beyond mediocre. We need to find a partner for Partey who can defend and drive forward. Pace, power and agility.

Elneny's rarely injured and a lot more versatile than Xhaka. Keep.

He's not good enough. Neither is xhaka. Keep elneny as cover. Bin xhaka. Buy an actual quality box to box cm.

Bring Ramsey home

We should be looking for better than Elneny and Xhaka, neither player should be in an Arsenal shirt, the drop in quality is alarming. If its a choice between keeping Elneny and Xhaka I say keep Elneny any day of the week.

Keep him. It won't cost us much. We're thin on the ground in the CM/DM department. We won't keep Ceballos and we'll probably raise money selling Guendouzi, Willock and AMN.

We need better but we also need squad players. Elneny has no problem playing quick one touch football out from the back, covers a lot of ground and pretty safe in possession. Paired with Partey and playing a ESR or Odegaard as the attacking mid works well.

Precisely. I don't see Lucas Torreira coming back either. Somebody like Elneny is a good option to have on the bench.

I forgot about Torriera. That's another £15m - £25m.

We could easily raise £60m this transfer window.

Would rather have Azeez as fourth choice CM than Elneny
