.............. and who will cover for our CM's exactly?

Ceballos gone, Odegaard gone, Xhaka going, Guendouzi going.

Who's Partey supposed to partner exactly?

Then comes the back up players like Elneny, so far have lost 2 midfielders and potentially 4 CM's, we are in no position to throw away solid back up squad players who can do a job.

Keep him, he's cheap and can actually enforce the midfield somewhat.

El Neny has had too many seasons and too many loans and too many chances to impress and yet hasn’t. I’d rather go with Azeez. I know it sounds crazy but he has far more upward potential than El Neny ever will. Of course, that doesn’t negate the need to buy another CM. Spend some time watching Azeez and you’ll feel the same way.

Partey, Azeez, Elneny and a brought in good CM should cover the CM positions nicely

That would be terrible, your a partey injury away from an elneny-azeez midfield, get bissouma, lakonga and locatelli alongside partey and get rid of the rest, you can keep azeez for back up and ease him in in lesser games and see how he copes.

We can only go on what we see, he looks good, no point being pessimistic for no reason. HJe could turn out to be a dud, we won't know until he gets game time.

He'll probably be our only remaining CM once Arteta has a brain wave and puts Partey at LB.

I am an advocate for Bellerin to have vacated the Emirates at least two seasons ago due to his defensive deficiencies steadfastly refusing to become less and less of an entity to then be significantly outweighed by his attacking prowess as a good trade off.

That from the same period of time I have constantly bleated on to the point of boredom no doubt, about the recruitment of Achraf Hakimi or Max Arrons to replace the Spaniard in addressing the issue as well as more recently Tariq Lamptey, it doesn't appear to be one raising as much concern for our manager given the lukewarm approach and application to it.

If as it is starting to appear is the case that we will be entering the new season without recruitment of a specialist right back but going with Cedric and Chambers for the role, I'd be more inclined to rummage through the squad again and give the same opportunity to impact the team as was afforded Chambers and play Elnenny at right back to see how he does as I believe his skill set would be the best suited for the role. We know enough of his attributes to have no real need to list them all along with aspects we'd be foolish to suddenly expect, but failing to give 100% effort and fight are not amongst them whilst being a mainstay of the team is much more likely to raise his performance levels up a notch or two than dampen and lower them.

There's nothing to bump.

Elneny is cover and when we need to close out a game he's a tireless Flamini type which we need, he's also cheap and scores the odd wonder goal.

He's a good squad cover option, there's no point in jumping on someone who no one is claiming should be 1st choice.

Right now we have Partey, Lokonga, Elneny and Azeez as the deeper pivot CM's.

How good this is really depends on Lokonga & Partey because they're likely first choice.

Xhaka is first choice until he’s sold. Lokonga is not going to start. Which makes El Neny one of three players we have for two starting CM spots.

Why do you think Lokonga won't start? he was captain at Anderlecht, I don't think we bought him for a bench option.

Xhaka staying here is something I won't even contemplate.

Too inexperienced and lightweight at the moment. He looks a good player but he’ll need a season or two to settle in to the pace and power of a premier league midfield. To unleash Partey you need a guy who can play in tandem with him. It’s obvious we want to sell Xhaka to bring in an established player like Ruben Neves to partner him. But no one is biting for Xhaka. Which days everything you need to know about him.

Besiktas want Elneny.

Not sure about that, with Lokonga not fully proven yet and an injured Partey who partners Xhaka?

If we sell Elneny its only a choice of Lokonga and AMN.

Our midfield is sorely lacking, again, we should of got Bissouma, problem solved.
