Excellent tonight. Looks to be gaining a bit of confidence with his passes and forward play.

Wilshere was in his shadow today.

Totally agree with you.Has great energy and fantastic engine. Why Wenger stuck him in a back 5 at the beginning of the 2nd half God only knows

The back five worked immediately once Wilshere came off, great tactical switch by Arsene credit to him

Underrated player and deserved MOTM today. Big step up from Coquelin. Rarely injured, calm on the ball and can pass well.

Hopefully Wenger has realized this as well and will give him more PL game time in addition to EL starts.

Reminds me a bit of Gilberto. I'm not saying he's as good as Gilberto but the way he makes an impact in the middle of the park while remaining largely unnoticed

Yep.

Elneny literally took the midfield over on both ends at the back and going forward.

Also unlike Ramsey he doesn't shirk his defensive duties just because he gets a bit of joy going forward so I think he's good foil for Ramsey as Hollywood can let loose while Elneny will anchor.

Two great assists as well, I mean how comes a 2nd string mid who cost nothing is sliding in the best played balls that even our more "experienced" players aren't managing?

Tbf Ramsey and Welbeck got a good few through balls in as well but both of Elnenys actually came off.

Long may it continue.

El neny is a footballer...coquelin is a butcher. I love this guy and what he represent. Unlike wilshere who has had everything handed to him. This guy really appreciate being here. Works so hard for the team. He seems like a lovely guy as well. Basically opposite to chav wilshere

Wenger needs to be smart and play him for the rest of the competition, had we played him against city in the cup final I don't think we would have destroyed by that many goals and maybe stood a chance.

If only Xhaka could match Elneny's enthusiasm for taking responsibility for covering the defense as well as the other CM duties, we could have a power house midfield.

Out of our 4 mids Xhaka, Wilshere, Ramsey and Elneny the latter two are the ones clearly making the impact.

Wilsh & Xhaka better up their game.
