What's wrong with that?

Good back up player and we just missed £50m from CL qualifications, we don't have money to be buying back up replacements.

Elneny is cheap, means we have more money to spend on better players that we need.

.......... if this even him signing for a new contract.

Fair comment. It's the third choice Sambi that needs replacing. Keep Elneny for a year, send Sambi out on loan and sign competition for xhaka and partey. Not a bad move tbf.

Rubbish player. Can’t play a single forward pass of any quality.

Same as Nketiah's situation. I don't mind him staying as long as we also sign a better new midfielder.

Need someone like him as 5th choice. Bring him in when it's backs against the wall.

We need more players ahead of him though.

No, they are not suitable for that, so he shouldn't be expected to do any of that. He has a simple skill set and is a very consistent player, so play to his strengths not his weaknesses.

Its on the manager .. as usual.

He doesn't need to, we have other midfielders to do that

To add to my above post .. we had a player that could play a forward pass, actually added assists and goals to his skill set, but some numpty decided it was better to get rid of Guendouzi

Yup. Elneny is ok and have proven himself useful in many occasions and he doesn't ask a lot from the club. I have no problem if we want to replace him, but letting him go without a clear replacement is a big no no. We have already let a big bunch of players go without replacements. And having too many new players in one window has its own risk. And some of our last season signings haven't adapted well enough even until now. We can't just let everybody go and only keeping Ramsdale, Gabriel, Saka, Martinelli and some other players that we really like.
