True. My problem is that we continue to throw youngsters in to fill the cm gap or shop in the mid to lower range £market£ desperately hoping to unearth another Vieira. Been a while since we've found a real gem. Can't he just buy proven this time ? Matic? He's proven, looks unsettled and could give power and protection to stop us being bullied in big games.

Would love Matic here

We need an Elneny in the squad though. He's our only CM with no real weaknesses.

The CAF moved AFCON from winter to summer. No more will african players miss important games in the european leagues. This could encourage more teams to buy african players. 24 teams will participate instead of 16 too.

Didn't know where to put this as there is no thread for african football.

It's also not forbidden to create a new thread for the upcoming AFCON. :frogwink:

In this forum, some actually believe in that.
Also some may believe in unicorns and that in the end of a rainbow, is a pot of gold.

Exactly

Ramsey was good, but Elneny as a CB has been pretty good. Has shown more positional awareness, distribution and discipline than Mustafi and Gabriel combined

Definitely a new CM coming in if this is the case.

Would be so, so stupid to sell. Probably our best utility player

We won't get better in the 10 million or so we'll get for him

Yes please. He's the type of midfielder Galatasaray needs, he'll never have a huge role for Arsenal

Can't say I'm too surprised to be honest.

He's not good enough to start week in week out here but he's also too good to be wasting away on the bench.

He'd definitely get more opportunities this season in the Europa league but I think he wants first team football.

He's never said he does. I think we could keep him if we try. Would be very useful to have on the bench

Can play in midfield. Now we know he can play CB too.

Energetic, never stops trying. Every team needs a sub like him
