He has had 3 Europa Cup and 1 League Cup appearance this season. I would prefer to play one of the youngsters instead of him in those games, give them some game time if we don't plan to keep him. Sell him if a decent offer comes in.

Arsenal are willing to offload Mohamed Elneny in January, who has fallen way down the pecking order at the club under Unai Emery.

According to The Sun, Emery wants to secure at least £15m ($19m) for the Egyptian midfielder, with Leicester City set to swoop for his signature.

Arsenal are hoping to use the funds raised by the sale of Elneny to finance a move for Villarreal's Pablo Fornals, who has also been linked with West Ham and Fulham.

15m is a great price

Sell and get fornals imo. Elneny is a limited baller who can't be relied upon to provide proper competition.

Really like him as a person, but we need better.

Never understood what he was doing in the team in the first place! Very limited and exactly the type of player to drag us down.

Nothing against him, just being realistic.

He’s really not that bad of a back up at all but I’d definitely take the £15m if it’s going towards Fornals.

I have previously thought that somewhere like Newcastle, Leicester, Burnley or Bournemouth could be just the right sort of environment for him to actually thrive in.

With the added incentive of wanting to prove us wrong for moving him on (if true that this transfer is imminent) he could even step up his level of performance to result in some even wondering why did we jettison him again?

Every gooner seems to recognise that he comes across as a genuine good guy with a likable personality, and as such I would wish for him to achieve the aforementioned, because the reality is that both the club and the player would be the beneficiaries of such a transaction.

He looked decent enough when he got a run of games, I have no doubt he could be very useful to a mid level team, he likes to get on the ball, he doesn't shy away from the action and he is pretty basic. Just nit the quality we need at Arsenal.

Looked rather rusty on the ball, but out of possession his grafting and high press was crucial today.

Allowed Ozil to preserve his energy for when we did have the ball.

It paid off.

With Torreira being one booking away from a suspension, we're going to need Elneny against Brighton.

Yeah agree, didn't think he had a good game.

He keeps the ball well and presses well, but he's too lightweight and lacks physicality to be a first-team player. He's also positionally suspect which is why we got bypassed in midfield so easily.
