Torreira, Guendouzi, AMN,Xhaka as options aren't that bad for the DM position. Adding ElNeny to that mix won't make that big difference.
If we want to reduce our wage bill, him or Xhaka should be the choice.

Xhaka would be more difficult to get rid of considering his price tag.
And not to forget against less pressing sides, Xhaka would offer more to unlock defences than ElNeny.

Ramsey hasn't signed, Xhaka is never going to come good, AMN may or may not come good (I'm not that hopeful) and they want to sell the one guy who is ready to step in as a sub, can pass, can tackle, puts in effort.

Ramsey playing at central deep midfield is yet to be seen, also that's tactical depending on who we're facing, Ramsey plays like he's a SS these days.

I think he's actually competing more for Mkhy's RAM spot or Ozil at CAM rather than deep infield, again, opponent dependent.

Against a top 5 team I don't think Torreia will appreciate Ramsey leaving him on his todd.
