Why? .... he will be pushing 30 when this contract ends so his resale value will probably be almost nothing, he's hardly in massive demand now ... we will have to pay him 5m a year for three/four years when frankly he's not going to get a whole lot of playing time ....

He probably means that if Jack signs an extension now, we could sell him next summer (or in Jan) for £20m rather than lose him for free.

With a new manager coming in it makes perfect sense to give Jack a modest wage increase and keep him at the club. If we didn't we'd lose him in the summer for free - now he either stays and proves his worth in Emery's side, or we sell him on and get a decent fee for him in the next couple of seasons if it doesn't work out which can be spent on a replacement.

Rumours saying he may be off.

Says in his Instagram "A new chapter is coming".

A lot of Arsenal players careers could be in danger if they relied on soft arse Wenger, any player put off by Emery demanding graft can go to another team as far as i'm concerned, either that or he's had a better offer, either way Mkhitarayan can take his place or Ramsey, which they practically already have.

I think we have enough depth in midfield to let Jack go if another PL club wants him. Hopefully Max Meyer will be one of our transfer targets as he's available on a free.

I would like to see Mkh or Ozil take over in a CM role, and have Ramsey freed up to play in a more advanced position.

I don't care if he goes, but who is this depth in midfield that we have? We need midfielders, better ones at least, and badly!!

Meyer really hasn't shown much after breaking through. Goretzka's just way more talented.

Without Wilshere our options will be Ramsey, Elneny, Xhaka and Maitland-Niles. Considering this would force us to buy a CM is much rather keep Wilshere and spend that money on a CB

I have always been a big Wilshere fan. Cesc was my favourite, Jack, Rosicky, Diaby and Santi styles of play always got me excited.
But Jack has been a disappointment this season, plays safe, anonymous, no hanger or passion. It’s boring.
Hope he can get back to the old all action all buzzing Wilshere. If no, then he does not deserve first team football.

If Wilshere could push himself more, stop this new nonchalant, safe play attitude he has taken on then I can see him having a stormer next season.

Unbelievable we haven't given him 300k a week yet based on that 1 performance against Barcelona he had when he was 12

Needs to go, we can't afford to keep wasting big wages on average players. We're already stuck or soon to be stuck with a few.

Agreed.

He's moderately talented, can look great for a game or two but you never get that over a full season, ever, so I'm done with it.

No more "Easy Arsenal" we really should learn from the Ox transfer, they either get pushed and step up or there's no space for them here.

AFC is no longer a holiday camp.

........ I do wish him all the best if true though, he's a good lad.
